Writer, director, and star Sylvester Stallone presents his own “A-Team” in this explosive, ultra-violent story of hundreds of men’s deaths – and one man’s redemption.
Sylvester Stallone and Other Action Heroes.
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) leads a team of burned-out mercenaries to the small island of Vilena, where a cruel dictator (orchestrated by a well-funded American) has created misery and destruction. Assisted by a beautiful young woman, who finds herself a somewhat reluctant freedom fighter, the team takes on the ruthless General Garza (David Zayas), the corrupt James Munroe (Eric Roberts), the brutish Paine (Steve Austin), and troops of war-painted savages ready to do whatever it takes to maintain their current regime.
Actually, Barney single-handedly acts as the brains (he masterminds the assaults), spirit (he looks beyond their actions at the bigger picture), and body (Stallone still looks great) of the operation. Just to hedge his bets, however, he brings on lots more bodies in the form of muscle-bound fighting and weapons experts who go against ridiculous odds to get the bad guys. Blade specialist Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), hand-to-hand combat specialist Yin Yang (Jet Li), demolitions expert Toll Road (Randy Couture), long-barrel weapons specialist Hale Caesar (Terry Crews), and the hulking precision sniper Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) help Barney on his seemingly suicidal mission.

Sadly, the most expendable thing about The Expendables 3 is the movie itself.
