Today I'm going to give you some another funny or rather interesting fact about movies.
Most Hollywood A-listers have taken on a variety of roles to reach the top of the Tinseltown totem pole. Some actors have played the hero and others have made a career out of portraying the despicable villain, but the good guys and bad guys share one common trait: many of them have died multiple times in their movies. ChaCha.com has gifted us with an
answer to a question that may be plaguing the most morbid of cinephiles -- which actors have died the most during their careers? A nifty little diagram -- which you can check out in the gallery below -- maps out how many times 15 of Hollywood's most killed stars have met their maker, along with an interesting fact about each one.
The list contains some of the usual suspects like Robert De Niro (who you may want to kill again after 'Little Fockers'), Bruce
Willis and Al Pacino -- but names like Sean Bean and Carl Weathers are a little less predictable. The gang is also joined byJohnny Depp, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington,Christian Bale, George Clooney, Robert Downey, Jr., Gary Oldman and Mel Gibson(who seems to have a death wish off-screen as well).
Robert De niro |
Irony abounds in the factoid department, where we learn that Pacino was killed by comedians twice on screen, Willis was snuffed out by his ex-wife, Demi Moore, in two different films and that Gibson holds the record for being the most tortured versus killed (strangely fitting). The diagram is also a reminder that sometimes death breeds life. Mega stars like Johnny Depp found their footing in Hollywood by way of the oft-shunned horror genre. In Depp's case it was quite bloody (winning for most gory death) -- he was consumed and regurgitated by his bed.
As the commenters on ChaCha.com point out, the list may be missing a few movie titles (I guess that's where the Movie Deaths Database and Cinemorgue come in handy), but it's still an interesting overview. Check it out below and beware: this thing is loaded with spoilers.
