Even though its a few years old today I'm taking you to another greatest movie of the recent times which is based on a true story. You have all watched Denzel Washington (from The Training Day, Man on fire) and Russel Crowe ? Then how about a movie with both of 'em combined. It would be great right. Yeah its a simply awesome movie.If your not sure just see the trailer here first and if u can see the comments put onto that youtube video.Then you will realize. You might wonder...
why I'm giving all the Russel Crowe movies lately. Its not for anything but I truly appreciate his roles and they are far better than the latest releases of some movies. So to start off just a heads up.This movie contain scenes of drugs and violence so it may not be suitable for children. The movie basically takes us back to 1960's. The story goes on like this..
Following the death of his employer and mentor, Bumpy Johnson, Frank Lucas establishes himself as the number one importer of heroin in the Harlem district of Manhattan. He does so by buying heroin directly from the source in South East Asia and he comes up with a unique way of importing the drugs into the United States. As a result, his product is superior to what is currently available on the street and his prices are lower. His alliance with the New York Mafia ensures his position. It is also the story of a dedicated and honest policeman, Richie Roberts, who heads up a joint narcotics task force with the Federal government.
The battle of a dedicated policeman and a hard core drug lord who can go all the way to find what he wants is magnificently transformed into a movie and you can not get your eyes off it until the vey end.To tell you about its greatness "American Gangster" was Nominated for 2 Oscars. Another 5 wins & 28 nominations. So I dont think you dont need any more explanations as to why you should watch this. IMdb -7.9/10.See it today itself and enjoy!
